VOIDLINE: Defy the Dark

VOIDLINE is a browser-based vertical space combat game — eight escalating waves against two capital-class warships in low Earth orbit. Three weapon loadouts, Rift Break time manipulation, destructible gun batteries, and chain kill scoring. Five to eight minutes. No install. The first product in the new Games category. Twenty-eight instruments for institutions. This one is for the pilot.

Twenty-eight products in this portfolio solve problems for institutions. They govern AI agents, classify reliance limits, record storm decisions, test healthcare workflows, seal evidence chains, and map prosthetic care.

This one blows up spaceships.

What VOIDLINE is

VOIDLINE is a vertical space combat game that runs entirely in the browser. No download. No install. No account. Open the URL. Pick your weapon. Defy the dark.

You pilot a fighter through eight escalating combat waves in low Earth orbit against two capital-class warships — the Harvester and the Oblivion. Each warship has destructible gun batteries that must be silenced before you can attack the core. The waves escalate. The patterns intensify. The margins shrink.

Five to eight minutes from launch to final debrief.

Three weapons

You choose one loadout before the campaign begins:

Raptor — twin pulse. Fast attacks, consistent damage. The all-rounder that rewards steady aim.

Prism — arc spread. Wide coverage, lower precision. Clears swarms but struggles against armoured targets.

Lance — railgun. Piercing shots that cut through defences. High damage, narrow beam. Rewards positioning over volume.

The weapon choice is permanent for the run. Choose wrong and the later waves punish it.

Rift Break

The signature mechanic. Rift Break is a time-manipulation ability that slows time, clears bullets from the screen, and damages nearby enemies. It charges through two sources: near misses and kills.

Near misses — bullets that pass close without hitting — charge the Rift Break meter. The closer the miss, the faster the charge. This creates a deliberate tension: safety charges nothing, risk charges everything. The pilot who flies through the densest fire with the smallest margin builds the most powerful Rift Break.

Kills contribute too, but the near-miss mechanic is the one that defines the playstyle. Rift Break rewards controlled aggression, not evasion.

The two warships

Harvester (waves 1–4) — capital class. Break the armour, silence the guns. Two destructible gun batteries must be destroyed before the core is exposed. The Harvester sheds wings during the assault, changing the bullet pattern as the fight progresses.

Oblivion (waves 5–8) — capital class. Opens into a rotating barrage with laser lane warnings. The patterns are more complex, the windows are shorter, and the Rift Break timing becomes critical.

Upgrades and power cells

After waves 2, 4, and 6, you choose a permanent upgrade — bonuses that compound across the remaining waves. Power cells drop during combat for temporary damage boosts. The upgrade choices shape the late-game strategy: invest in survivability or double down on damage.

Session statistics

Every run produces a debrief: wave progress, flight duration, accuracy percentage, near-miss count, and chain kill records. The personal best score is tracked per device. The statistics are not decorative — they are the feedback loop that makes the second run different from the first.

Why a game in this portfolio

The question is fair. Twenty-eight products serve institutions. Why does product twenty-nine serve pilots?

Three reasons:

Engineering standard. VOIDLINE is built to the same standard as the governance products — responsive, performant, accessible, instant-loading. If the engineering discipline that produces evidence-grade hash chains can also produce a polished browser game, that says something about the engineering.

Craft range. A portfolio that contains only governance products proves one thing: the builder can build governance products. A portfolio that contains governance products, prosthetic care tools, storm decision desks, space-weather instruments, a fusion plasma simulation, and an arcade space combat game proves something different: the builder can build anything, and the quality is consistent.

Joy. Not everything needs to prove a thesis. Sometimes the dark needs defying.

The Games category

VOIDLINE is the first product in a new portfolio category: Games. The portfolio page now has six filterable sections: AI Governance & Proof, Risk & Security, Decision Intelligence, Human Capital & Careers, Healthcare, and Games.

The category exists because the builder builds. Not all of it is serious. All of it is shipped.
